The King's Moment - Volume 1 Chapter 17

He Yu’s POV

“Don’t feed, thank you.”

This was what Hou Yi had said to him when He Yu died. This time, these words could be returned back to him, making He Yu very happy with his revenge. But...

Looking at the scores 0 to 3 on the leaderboard, He Yu did not send out the message after all.

This is not what I should do right now. He Yu thought.

Although the performance of his teammates was very frustrating, the only goal of the game was to achieve victory. All factors that were not conducive to victories should be eliminated as much as possible.

I have no way to choose the teammates I want when solo ranking, so that is why I can only adapt to these teammates. No matter how they perform, what I should do is to find a way to win in these situations. My brother who spent his entire career in Tian Ze had always been working hard with such a belief, right?

Thinking of this, He Yu calmed down instantly. He deleted the provocative words he had typed just now and started to analyze the situation he was currently facing.

First of all, He Yu studied the gap between both sides by opening the information tab. With his four teammates, each group of two huddled together to clear one minion wave, and their gold was even lower than He Yu who died once and lost a minion wave.

But their opponent’s marksmen Hou Yi and Luban who were on the same lane were not really good either. The roaming Arthur was slightly better, but his ability was limited, too. Other than that, the mid-laner Angela was facing the worst situation because she was dealing with two opponent heroes alone. Although she had not been killed yet, she had returned to base twice to replenish her health, resulting in her losing a couple of minion waves and having the lowest gold in the whole game.

The only thing that really made He Yu feel threatened was the Ake with the ID name, Shi Liu Ye. She was the one who took the first blood from He Yu’s Genghis Khan, and killed their two marksmen. Ake’s current gold then increased rapidly. In just two minutes, she was in the lead by over 1000 gold. This gap was considered huge in a game of two minutes. But in the end, He Yu was quite relieved when he found out that his gold was ranked second among all heroes.

This situation made He Yu wonder if he should cry or laugh. Obviously, it was not only that his four teammates were not good at playing, but that four heroes of the opposite side did not know how to farm efficiently either. He Yu noticed that this Shi Liu Ye plunged into He Yu’s red zone immediately to kill their jungle monsters after killing their two marksmen. This tactic was normally used by a jungler.

So the only threat He Yu was facing was this person. Although He Yu could not beat the others with skills and operations, at least he knew how farming worked in this game. In the Valley of Kings, you could do whatever you want if you were rich.

Farming!

This was the most important thing he should do now. He could surpass the other four opponents with farming, but he might not be able to deal with the Ake who was already farmed. So the second most important thing was to find a way to target Ake.

Should I work together with my teammates? He Yu thought as the revived Luban and Hou Yi rushed down to the bottom lane straight away without thinking.

He Yu then helplessly sent a warning between the first turret and the second turret at the bottom lane to warn his teammates about Ake. He guessed that Ake would continue to attack there after clearing the jungle area.

On the other hand, the two mages in the middle lane were chilling under the turret, Daji’s second skill “Strike a Pose” could stun a target for 1.5 seconds. This was why  entering the turret zone to kill these two mages was quite risky, so the opponent would mostly choose to ambush the two marksmen who had just resurrected. If he did not do that, it only meant that this Shi Liu Ye was not as good as he thought.

Take it easy. He Yu thought while paying attention to the bottom lane. He only had one goal, which was the Tyrant.

The Tyrant in this round was on the top lane, and Ake currently was on the bottom lane to take some kills. The others from both sides did not pay any attention to the jungle area, and because of this, He Yu guessed that these people would not have any ideas of killing the Tyrant, which gave him the opportunity to kill it.
It was disappointing that the gold rewarded for killing the Tyrant was evenly distributed to the whole team, and an individual would get only a little experience and 100 gold. However, there were no better choices for He Yu at this moment.

It’s better to help the team to increase their gold anyway.

As expected, no one cared about the Tyrant except for him. His Genghis Khan immediately launched an attack at the Tyrant alone.

As expected again, the two marksmen from the bottom lane were ambushed by Ake once they reached the area between the first and second turret. Without any efforts, the two marksmen died instantly.

Shi Liu Ye’s POV

“Double Kill!”

Shi Liu Ye was getting excited by the announcer from the game, only two minutes in and he had already managed to get five kills. He felt that the game was completely under his control, and the next step was to enjoy slaughtering his enemy.

Where should I start? As Shi Liu Ye was thinking this, the two marksmen were back again, but waiting for them was quite boring. It was time for the two mages in the middle to get some attention now.

Shi Liu Ye began to move towards the middle lane and halfway through, the system announced a message, “The enemy has slain the Tyrant.”

Ah! Disrespectful!

Looking at the avatar of Genghis Khan in the message, Shi Liu Ye was quite surprised. Among the bronze lineup with two mages and three marksmen, there’s still one who knows how to grab the Tyrant?

What’s the use of taking the Tyrant though? Shi Liu Ye glanced at the information panel and could not feel the slightest threat when he saw the gold distributed to the five heroes.

I’ll continue on my path. Shi Liu Ye did not take the steal seriously, and continued with his attack. After observing the situation under the turret from the jungle area, his Ake camped in the bushes at the side of the river.

He, too, had paid attention to the midlane fights. His teammate Angela was a newbie bronze ranked player by forcing herself to fight against two enemies. It was a miracle that she had not died yet. But Shi Liu Ye did not care about Angela, and was only treating her as a decoy to lure the two mages out from their turret.

Perfect! Shi Liu Ye was excited, the minion waves from both sides arrived. As expected, his Angela and the opponent’s two mages left the turret area to clear the waves.

What am I waiting for?

As long as they were not under the turret, Shi Liu Ye had nothing to worry about. Ake cast her ultimate “Phantom Dance” immediately, gracefully exited the bushes and drifted behind the two mages like a ray of smoke.

Unexpectedly, at this moment, an eagle chirp sounded. Suddenly, an eagle hovered from the opposite bush, and another one whistled past her head.

An ambush? Shi Liu Ye was shocked, but what was even more shocking were the two mages, Lady Zhen and Daji. Genghis Khan’s eagle gave vision of the enemy, and the invisible Ake suddenly appeared. The two mages cast all their spells hurriedly when they spotted an enemy that was close to them.

Daji’s “Strike a Pose” and Lady Zhen’s “Flowing Sigh” were cast immediately. Of course, the two newbie’s aims were not as accurate. Fortunately, their skills were not direction-based, and every target within the area was affected.

Shi Liu Ye’s Ake was stunned by Daji first, then got shot by Lady Zhen’s skill. He Yu did not stay idle either, and he was more prepared than the two mages. He first cast his second skill “Hundred Beast Trap” under Ake, then exited the bushes. He cast his ultimate “Big Game Hunter” soon after, and shot Ake with his basic attacks.

Genghis Khan's passive skill was making his next basic attack into two consecutive shots after entering the bushes. Great players would make good use of this skill by using the bushes to deal more damage to the enemy. However, He Yu was convinced that he could not master this difficult operation and did not return back to the bushes after exiting it. Instead, he stayed outside the bushes and continued shooting Ake.

Although Ake’s gold was high, she was squishy.

He Yu and his teammates were weak in terms of gold, but they had more people against Ake. Especially when Daji’s “Strike a Pose” stunned Ake for 1.5 seconds, this was what He Yu expected too. After 1.5 seconds, Ake was already at the verge of dying. After Shi Liu Ye struggled to fight back, she finally fell down.

“An enemy has been slain!”

When the message was announced, the two mages were still in shock. Angela, like Shi Liu Ye, completely ignored her teammate's death and continued to clear the minion waves. Shi Liu Ye who was waiting to resurrect furiously sent a message to the all chat, “You are done, Genghis Khan!”

“Double Kill!”

Another announced message answered Shi Liu Ye.

Angela, who was not retreating, was instantly killed by He Yu along with the two mages after killing Ake, completing the double kill.

In the blink of an eye, the economic gap between Genghis Khan and Ake was narrowed to a few hundred. Looking at the death threat issued by his opponent, He Yu did not take it too seriously and immediately went to the opponent's red zone to kill their red sentinel. He released his eagle behind him, and saw Ake running straight towards the red zone.

“Fuck!” Seeing that the red sentinel had disappeared, Shi Liu Ye naturally guessed that it was taken by Genghis Khan. He ignored the two jungle monsters and immediately rushed towards the top lane that He Yu was guarding.

He hid in the bushes for a while, but Genghis Khan was nowhere to be found. The two marksmen from He Yu’s side were rushing to his bottom turret and took it down. Without saying anything, Shi Liu Ye cast his ultimate and began rushing towards the turret with his minions. Surprisingly, there was no one under the turret, and because of this he easily took their top turret.

“This asshole!”

Shi Liu Ye was so pissed that he went into his opponent’s blue zone, but the blue sentinel and the jungle monsters were all gone. Genghis Khan who was previously forced to go top lane was now farming everywhere like a jungler, sacrificing his turret.

“Where did he go?” The only thing Shi Liu Ye was thinking right now was to kill Genghis Khan. While thinking of the next step to kill him, he spotted him in the middle lane. Soon after, a message was announced.

“Genghis Khan, Killing Spree!”
He Yu’s POV
